74% of U.S. companies are using or planning to implement a permanent hybrid work model. At CivicEye, our headquarters is located in Charlotte, North Carolina; however, we have employees located all over the U.S. working toward a mission of digitizing and democratizing records management to improve community outcomes.
The second week of July was inspiring for the business as we not only closed a Series A funding round with Cercano Management, but also welcomed several of our remote employees to the office for the week. Team members from Tennessee, South Carolina, Utah, and California came to Charlotte for a week of work, collaboration, and team building.
One of our five core principles at CivicEye is to keep your mind right. In building a world-class organization to support the critical work of law enforcement officers and prosecutors, we encourage our team to make sure they are engaging in self-care. Throughout the week, we got to learn more about how members of our team take time for themselves to recharge and fuel up to achieve the goals the business has.
On an individual basis, some of the ways our team keeps their mind right are:
- Exercising (running, hot yoga, CrossFit)
- Listening to music + reading (Top recs from our Software Engineer, Martina, and Business Development Rep Jackson: The Doors + David Bowie)
- Golfing
- Baking (Digital Marketing Manager, Adrienne, supplies the office with top-tier macarons)
- Spend time outdoors (Walking dogs + catching a sunset)
“It was a great opportunity to meet all the people that are part of the Charlotte office and interact with the Engineering team in person. Plus, I got to go to my first baseball game ever! I live in California, so working from the Charlotte office allowed me to see how other departments within the company work together and cross-functionally to deliver results for new and existing customers,” Software Engineer Hector Nevarez said.
As a collective, we came together this week to not only continue the work of shaping the public service industry, but to get to know each other on a deeper level. Team members ate their way through Charlotte, enjoyed local breweries, and attended a Charlotte Knights game in Uptown! While distance spreads our people over multiple states and time zones, the ability to come together and learn more about who makes up CivicEye was incredibly impactful.
